Lakeside Views
Cholpon Ata
Cholpon Ata is a beautiful town located on the north side of Lake Issyk-Kul. The coastline is filled with resorts and is usually most popular in the summer months when temperatures are warmer. The pictures below are from a cultural center named after Chingiz Aitmatov.

It is common to see a handful of yurts located near the beach. Fun way to spend a day at the lake.
Headed Home
Sunday evenings for me always consist of a bit of sadness and procrastination. It’s those final hours where I’m always looking for a way to enjoy the last moments of my weekend a tad bit more. Especially after enjoying the nice lakeside views in Cholpon Ata. Luckily, there is a popular rest stop for those traveling back to the city after a relaxing weekend in Issyk-Kul.

Kattama is a fried flatbread with a flaky texture and oniony taste. It pairs well with Kaymak, a dense and creamy dairy product made from cow or goat milk.
